Alresford
The historic market town of Alresford is just a stone’s throw from St John’s, and is a fabulous place to spend a morning or afternoon. There are lots of independent shops, cafes and pubs to try, as well as the Watercress Line - a 19th-century heritage line with steam trains traveling through vintage stations.

Churches of the Candover Valley
The United Benefice of Farleigh, Candover and Wield consists of nine churches arranged in four parishes. For further information on these churches please click here.
The Parish of The Candovers with Bradley has three churches:
- All Saints - Bradley
- St Peter - Brown Candover with Chilton Candover
- St Mary the Virgin - Preston Candover with Nutley
The remaining churches each have their own parish:
- St John the Evangelist - Northington with Swarraton
- St James - Wield
The four churches in the northern part of the benefice are arranged in a single parish called The Parish of Farleigh:
